On Thursday April 26, our own Eden Mills visionary, KIT BRESNAHAN, received the VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION AWARD 2012 presented by Wellington County, and sponsored by the Guelph-Wellington Volunteer Centre. Our five-year-old Earth Day Celebration is just one of the important projects Kit has initiated in the Village.

In April 2008, the Eden Mills Youth Group organized the Village’s first Earth Day Celebrations. That year, for the first time, Wellington Green Legacy had offered the Village more than 2000 trees to plant in recognition of our intention to “go carbon neutral.” Since that first Earth Day 4 years ago, we have planted 7258 trees, and as many as 22 species
